Privacy Policy

Sample policy for the Freekeek demo. Replace with reviewed legal text before any production launch.

What we collect

Account details you provide (name, username, email), the content you post, your follows, and basic technical data needed to operate the service. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes — never in plain text.

How we use it

To run Freekeek: to show your feed, deliver posts to the right places and people according to your privacy settings, power search and classifieds, and keep the community safe.

Your privacy controls

Each post has a privacy level — Public, Place, Followers, or Private — that determines who can see it. Public content may be indexed by search engines and AI agents. You choose this per post.

Places & third parties

Place search is powered by the Google Places API when configured; your typed query is sent to Google to return suggestions. We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies

We use a single essential, httpOnly session cookie to keep you logged in. No advertising trackers are used in this build.

Data requests

You may request access to or deletion of your account data. In production, contact details and verified processes would be provided here.
