Freekeek Cookie Policy

Version 1.3
Version date: 2026-10-05
Effective date: 2026-10-05.

This Policy explains how Freekeek 4e Places Lab Ltda., Brazilian company registration CNPJ 69.122.866/0001-71, uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on freekeek.app, the PWA, and web interfaces in its apps. It supplements the Privacy Policy and does not replace the Terms of Use.

1. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored by a browser. Local storage, session identifiers, and equivalent technologies may serve similar functions. They support secure sessions, remember choices, prevent fraud, and, when permission is granted, measure Service performance.

2. Categories we use

2.1 Essential — always active

These technologies are strictly necessary for authentication, sessions, request-forgery protection, security, abuse prevention, and basic operation. Without them, signing in, staying signed in, and submitting protected forms may fail. Their legal basis follows from providing the Services, security, and compatible legitimate interests, as applicable; they do not depend on measurement consent.

2.2 Preferences — functional

These remember language, visual theme, and interface choices. They may also remember a geolocation refusal, recently viewed Places, and heat-map preferences. They are not used for behavioral advertising.

2.3 Geolocation — separate choice

When a person requests a proximity-based feature, the browser may ask separately for location permission. If granted, the local preference may be remembered for a limited period. Refusing location does not authorize measurement and does not prevent manual selection of a country or Place.

2.4 Third-party advertising measurement — disabled

During general browsing, Freekeek does not load Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag, or equivalent third-party technology for audience, conversion, or advertising measurement. No first-party cookie is used to record permission for such measurement because the feature is disabled.

3. Operational inventory

  • access_token — Freekeek — essential: authentication and secure session. Duration follows the session period selected by the user and configured for the Account.
  • passkey_ceremony — Freekeek — essential: temporarily binds and protects a WebAuthn (Passkey) operation. Duration up to 5 minutes; it is not used for tracking.
  • freekeek_device — Freekeek — essential: protected opaque identifier for a known browser or installation, used for session management and new-device alerts. Duration up to 2 years.
  • two_factor_challenge — Freekeek — essential: temporary challenge used to complete a sign-in protected by two-factor authentication. Duration limited to the authentication flow.
  • two_factor_trusted_device — Freekeek — essential: signed proof that the second factor was validated on a trusted device. User-selected duration from 1 to 90 days.
  • admin_reauth — Freekeek — essential: temporary proof of renewed authentication for a critical administrative operation. Duration limited to the configured security window.
  • csrf_token — Freekeek — essential: protected forms and requests. Duration of up to 7 days.
  • lang — Freekeek — preference: chosen language. Duration of up to 1 year.
  • theme — Freekeek — preference: chosen visual theme. Duration of up to 1 year.
  • fk_geo — Freekeek — functional: authorized location for proximity features. Duration of up to 30 days.
  • fk_geo_declined — Freekeek — functional: remember a location refusal. Duration of up to 14 days.
  • Recent Places and map storage — Freekeek — preference: navigation and viewing. It remains until removed by the person or browser.

Third-party technology names and durations may change. Freekeek will revise this inventory after a material change. Further information is available in How Google uses cookies and the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Internal metrics and technical records

Freekeek keeps first-party records needed for operation, security, fraud prevention, diagnostics, and availability. These records may include IP address, date and time, technical browser or device information, requested route, and security or operational events.

When such data are used to understand general performance and usage, Freekeek seeks to apply purpose-compatible minimisation and aggregation, without using Google Ads/Google Tag to track general browsing, without combining activity with third-party trackers, and without creating cross-site advertising profiles.

5. User controls

Because third-party advertising measurement is disabled, Freekeek does not display a banner to authorise Google Ads/Google Tag and does not create the fk_google_consent cookie.

Users may continue to control cookies and local storage through browser settings. Removing essential or functional technologies may end sessions, reset language, theme, or preferences, and require renewed authentication. Device permissions such as geolocation remain subject to the controls provided by the browser or operating system.

6. Children and adolescents

Adolescent Accounts receive protective defaults. Freekeek does not use third-party advertising measurement tags during general browsing and does not use children’s or adolescents’ data for behavioural profiling for commercial advertising where prohibited by applicable law.

Device permissions and other processing remain subject to the specific safeguards described in the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

7. Third parties and integrations

Disabling advertising measurement does not disable integrations needed for features chosen by the user. Google Maps Platform and Places API, for example, may receive data necessary when a user uses maps or place-search features, as described in the Privacy Policy and Google’s own terms.

Freekeek does not treat use of those features as permission for Google Ads, Google Analytics, conversion measurement, or advertising tracking. If optional technology of that nature is introduced in the future, this Policy will be updated and the legally required controls will be implemented before activation.

8. Changes and history

Material changes will be published as a new version with an effective date and accessible history. Publishing a policy does not replace a specific choice where consent is legally required.

9. Contact
